QUESTIONS

Good to know

How long does a session last and how often is it scheduled?

A session lasts 50 minutes, whether it is conducted online or in-person. The frequency is determined by the therapist and the patient according to the latter's needs. The usual frequency is once per week, but in some cases it could be once every two weeks.

Is online therapy effective and reliable?

Online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. Psychologists and psychotherapists apply their scientific knowledge in the same way, and research on online therapy has shown that online sessions have the same therapeutic results as in-person sessions. As far as the reliability of online therapy is concerned, law protects the confidentiality of communications and confidentiality between the therapist and the patient.

What should I expect at the first session?

The first session is when the patient meets the therapist for the first time. The patient describes the reason they want to start therapy and the therapist keeps some notes of their history background. The therapist sets a treatment plan, which might be adjusted during the course of treatment according to the patient's needs.

How many sessions are required?

The number of sessions (as well as their frequency) is determined by the therapist and the patient, depending on the latter's needs and the progress of treatment. Psychotherapy could be either short-term or long-term.

How important is the relationship between the therapist and the patient?

The therapeutic relationship is crucial to the course and progress of a successful and effective treatment. The relationship between the patient and the therapist is one of mutual trust and acceptance. The therapist is the one who creates an environment in which the patient feels safe, accepted, trusted, and respected.
